When she moved next to the beach, Lindsay started spending time watching the flock of merrow that lived among the coast’s reef; there were a few of them, but one in particular caught her eye. He was a tad smaller than the others, but had a fiery temper that contrasted his sweet face and soft curls. He was also the only one who came close when she first swam out to the shoals, eyeing her with curiosity while the others hung back fearfully. Not long after, he would be found swimming around the rocks before she even arrived, refusing to stray far during her visits. He would never speak – Lindsay wasn’t sure if merpeople could – but whenever she arrived he seemed to give off a glow of happiness. Then the gifts began – she would find golden coins and chains brought up from the depths of the ocean resting on the rocks, waiting for her approval. Her merrow would smile whenever he saw her wearing a ring he’d dived for, or pearls around her neck. Her favorite was a sapphire ring that sparkled with the blues of the ocean.
She decided to name him Michael.

Remember when I said I love my crazy dreams? Let me reiterate: I love when I have crazy dreams.
(And for those unaware, merrow are mermaids that can choose to live on land if they so wish. :3)In honor of MerMay, I am bringing this back, because I still love it.
