It’s also in front of customers. This is not good practise. If you work in hospitality/tourism it is seen as incredibly lazy and improper. And if I walk into a retail shop then I want the retail workers to acknowledge I’m there, not just sat there looking down at their phone not even bothering to serve me.

Ah yes, sitting is lazy. Unlike standing for hours at a time which is completly healthy and doesn’t hurt at all.

No one said let them be on their phones, but let them sit down after standing for hours at a time which is hell on the feet and back. Just say you hate minimum wage workers and go
