Okay but also in that last gif LOOK AT HIS ARM. You can literally see how deep that metal goes into his torso. Don’t think for a second that some of those gears and wires aren’t attached to some nerve endings. I believe, without a doubt, that he can FEEL what happens to that arm and where it’s attatched.

In the comic book canon, the arm is literally fused to his spine and adds 75 pounds or more to Bucky’s overall weight.

The attachment of Bucky’s metal arm was nonconsensual and required extremely invasive surgery and is the definition of medical and body horror.

Also, iirc, he suffers from chronic pain because of the surgery, in addition to the pain suffered by regular amputees. So that and his history as a victim of electroshock torture contribute to his post traumatic personality shift into a tight lipped, cynical, and overall less cheery guy than he was previously.
