New medieval galleries bring knights’ gear back to Art Institute
The Deering Family Galleries of Medieval and Renaissance Art, Arms, and Armor is permanent home to almost 700 objects, mostly from the 13th to 16th centuries, many of them freshly restored or newly liberated from the museum’s storage rooms.
Almost three years in the making, the museum’s new showcase opened to the public this week.
