I dont understand people that leave bad Yelp reviews

Like I get it, I’m sorry that you didn’t get exactly what your wanted and that your experience wasn’t 100% perfect but like

Can you honestly tell me that if you had gotten what you wanted, that you would’ve left a good Yelp review?

You can’t tell me that, can you?

You wanna know how I know?

Because in all the time I’ve been working here, not one of the people who got exactly what they wanted, who were damn near crying tears of joy when they walked out of the door, not one has left a good review

Because it doesn’t occur to them! They don’t care to leave a review, all they care about is the new thing that they’ve got that we gave them!

So clearly, if they (and you in this hypothetical situation) didn’t care enough to leave a good review, clearly it’s because they didn’t think that their experience would have value for future customers.

So why do you think your experience and your bad review does!?!

Like why??

I’ve had bad experiences before, but I’ve never felt the compulsion to leave a shitty 1-star review about it on Yelp, and I’ve never felt the need to fucking lie in my goddamn review either!

It’s infuriating! Like goddamn, do you see how busy we were? I’m trying to do 5 million things at once, and you’re over here pitching a fit because you left for 3+ hours and then were surprised when we didn’t bend over backwards to serve your every whim

We told you that the thing you wanted was not guaranteed to still be here when you left, and you still left, and the thing you wanted was in the process of being bought when you came back, so don’t expect me to go and rip the thing out of another family’s hands and give it to you just because you couldn’t make a decision when I asked you to 3 hours ago!!

Fucking christ I hate people sometimes, like let it go, there were other available (and were somewhat similar too) for you to get that you could’ve looked at but noooooooo, that would be too easy, that would be too mature of you, better go leave a bitchy Yelp review  instead~

Seriously, what do you think your review is going to accomplish?

You’re not going to get the thing, we’re not going to call you begging for you to come back, we have plenty of customers daily willing to follow our rules and make decisions in a timely manner, and honestly it’s probably not going to affect many future clients on if they should come in or not either.

What do you gain from all this except a shitty reputation if you ever come back and making a customer service person’s life a bit worse when her boss comes in and asks “wtf happened, what did you do?” and puts another note in my file probably for when my review comes up…

(Also, p.s I’m basically deaf in my right ear right now, so excuse me for not being able to hear you speaking/misunderstanding what you’re saying when there’s 20 other people in the lobby, the walkie going off the hook, phones ringing, dogs barking and who knows what else making noise all around us 😡 )
