White privilege is a 13 year old girl shouting racial slurs at an Indigenous football player, being called on it by said player, and having an entire nation call her the victim and he the bully.
No. She’s thirteen, he’s a grown ass man. He should have yelled at her parents if he even felt a need to react at all. And her parents definitely own the responsibility for correcting that behaviour.
a) He never yelled at her. He pointed her and her repeated slurs out to security, who decided to escort her from the ground as punishment. He sought to educate her and had a phone conversation with her post-game, and told the press she needed support.
b) White teens do not get to escape the consequences of their racism, because children of colour do not get to escape the consequences of being racially vilified.
