Okay so I used to be into KHR, and that fandom gave me a real taste for “your future boyfriend has SWITCHED PLACES WITH YOUR PRESENT ONE” (”time to make out with your aged-up devestatingly-hot boyfriend”) So……so.
Chuck’s hair
is too long. Weirdly enough, with everything else that’s wrong with this picture, that’s the first thing Mike notices when the lights flick on. Long enough he’s got it
pulled back, tied up and tucked behind his ears.
It’s messy enough there are still bangs hanging over his face, but Mike
can see his eyes, wide and blue and startled. His nose looks just a
little bit crooked, like it’s been broken.

They stare at
each other for a couple of frozen seconds. It’s Mike’s face, it’s
definitely his, but it’s less soft than it’s supposed to be, cut in sharp
planes with a fine shadow of stubble across the hollow of his cheekbones.
His bare chest has a jagged scar on it, from his left collarbone down to
his hipbone, and that one’s the biggest and the scariest but…the other scars
look right. All of the ones he’s seen
(touched), they’re all there, just…faded.
Faint and…old.
“…holy shit,” says Chuck.

!!! AH!! OH MY GOD!! Deluxe would start learning to shoot for any enemy that made a move like they were going to fuse–it’s totally possible they could take a pot-shot. If this was a gem AU you couldn’t fuse injured because you would get poofed, but this is a totally different thing!
Bearing all that in mind, I don’t want to draw a fight so you’ll have to imagine that part. 😀

@toastyhat and I have been writing together for more than a year on this story and we finally posted the last chapter tonight! It’s amazing to me to see how far both of us have evolved over the course of the story!

All dragons like shiny stuff but most of them also have at least one or two other intense interests/collections, and Mike’s mom liked to collect beautiful cloth/fabric and wrap herself up in as many wonderful colors as possible
unlike her tiny wildchild hatchling who had to be bribed to put on pants and not actively seek out danger.
Too bad she’s deeeaaaaaad TuT Because I love creating wonderful parents for my orphan kids, and then inevitably killing them off. So instead Mike gets to grow up with Kane

I just didn’t find time to actually make it until last night, and the internet went out so I couldn’t post it then or find ref for his scars (I know they’re not supposed to be this visible but…aesthetic…))
