It baffles and infuriates me that Hogwarts students don’t take Latin or Greek. Accio? Literally “I summon.” Lumos? Fucking “light.” Expelliarmus? Expel weapon!! Ooooh I wonder what Levicorpus does– you Dumb Ass Bastard. You ILLITERATE. It’s called Levicorpus, it lifts someone’s body, it LEVIES your goddamn CORPUS-

Counterpoint: Hogwarts actively discourages students from taking Latin or Greek because if they knew either one every single magic twelve year old would be trying to mash up twenty words and make their own Ultimate Spell instead of using the Good Standardized Spells Known Not To Explode Magic Schools

I have a feeling that last point is aimed at the ravenclaws…

It’s really easy to forget that lava still has the mass it has as rock. If my quick and dirty calculations are right (thanks metric system), the difference in density for basalt lava and basalt rock is tiny. about 2.6-2.8 g  per cubic cm vs 3 g per cubic cm.

So, getting hit with a baseball sized chunk of lava is like getting it with a slightly smaller baseball sized chunk of rock. If that rock was somewhere between 1,300 and 2,000 degrees fahrenheit.

one of the most terrifying things i ever learned about was when my geology professor taught us about pyroclastic bombs

EraserMic Week Day 3 Backposting: High School!

Say what you will about people perceiving Mic as a traitor or Eraser’s quirk as “evil”, but kids will be kids and they probably used to mess with people just a few times.

I took this one a little differently, and I apologize for the ttttterrible comic panel setup/bad handwriting/sketchiness/etc. Hopefully, it’ll at least satisfy your need for Mineta to befall trouble~
