Spent a year and a half doing a cross stitch and I can’t get the grid lines off now. It’s totally my fault, I believed some craft blog that used pencil to mark their grid. I got some of it out but I had to walk away after almost an hour and 3 different cleaners so I didn’t start bawling. I am so disheartened right now and will be devastated if I ruined all the work I put into it.
I read a few things, if actually erasing it doesn’t work. Wikihow had an something using rubbing alcohol, water, and a toothbrush, and someone else suggested clear Windex.
Other stitchers, do you have any tricks for this? I’ve ruined projects this way too.

Try using 3 ounces of water mixed with 1 ounce of rubbing alcoho and, 2-3 drops of dishwashing detergent and rubbing gently with a soft toothbrush
