The dorm room
door is open, but nobody ever comes to Chuck’s room so at first the knock
doesn’t register.  He’s got an exam in a
couple of days, and he’s got his nose almost touching the page of his advanced
comp sci textbook when the knocking comes again, a little bit louder, jolting
him upright.

“Sorry!”  He says, and snaps his book shut, squinting
at the figure silhouetted against the light from the hallway.  “I…oh.”
