So, y’know chicken right?

And how cooking chicken with the skin on is freaking delicious if done properly, right?

Why is that?

Why is chicken the only meat product that we eat with the skin still attached?

I’ve never seen steak being sold with the skin still on, its always (technically) “skinless beef”

I don’t think pork or lamb is sold with the skin on either

Is it because its red meat and comes from a furry animal, so it’d be off-putting to see fur on your sirloin?

Or is it because chicken/bird skin is so thin and the feathers can be removed, while most red meat comes from animals with very thick/tough hide?

I don’t think most fish is sold with the skin on either, although salmon might, idk i don’t eat fish

I don’t know why I was even thinking about this, but it’s odd right? Why is chicken the only commercially popular meat where “skinless” chicken is seen as a deviation from the norm?
