I swear this started out as a joke but now it’s gotten super real and i have thought WAY too much about this so guess what? It’s a thing now.

• Ana, Reinhardt, Jack and Gabe are all ex-military vets and used their hefty severance packages to build the farm. It was intended to just be a way to grow old in comfort but it ended up becoming a whole lot more.
• There’s a university nearby with lots of students wanting some sort of work experience so Ana and Reinhardt decide to build a guest house and market their farm as an ideal place for it. The place is pretty big, with shooting ranges and running tracks to stop them from getting rusty so it’s a good deal.
• Torbjorn handles construction and vehicle maintenance like tractors. 
• Tracer’s the star of the university track team and finds training on the farm grounds fun. When she gets more comfortable, she brings Emily there on vacation.
• ‘so when are you getting married’ is gabe’s first question.
  
• ‘after you do,’ sombra says. Jack gives Gabe a look.
• Symmetra studies management and architecture and acts as the farm’s resident manager/marketer/organiser. She does it for work experience initially but grows to love the place and sticks around for awhile even after graduation. That said, she definitely has issues with lots of them,
• Fareeha takes after her mum and is currently working in the military airforce. Jack and Gabe are lil shits about it.
• ‘Oh so you took down 4 fighter jets in 10 minutes? BACK IN MY DAY WE USED TO EAT FIGHTER JETS FOR BREAKFAST’
• Mercy is their hands-on animal doctor. She tends to patch the workers up too whenever an accident happens which is often, unfortunately.
• Mccree looks after the horses. He is completely unchanged.
• Hanzo’s the head of the university archery team and uses the shooting range as practise on holiday season.
• Zenyatta takes Genji there on invitation from Tracer who thought the atmosphere would be good for meditation.
• while they’re there, Genji gets to see Mccree at work.
• ‘wow,’ he says ‘a real-life cowboy’
• Junkrat and Roadhog are the destruction team. They come by whenever something needs to be dismantled or blown up. 
• ‘here to break stuff’ they say ‘and patch it up. Sorta’
• Mei studies meteorology and is there on the farm for a project relating to how farm practises change depending on the weather. While she’s there, she sees a particularly eye-catching pink-haired russian and whoop there she goes russian to lovesick city.
• ‘she can benchpress a tractor,’ she whispers in awe ‘with one hand.’
• Zaria’s a Russian bodybuilder and works as a farmhand at their place. She likes ripping apart dictionaries with her bare hands and the little umbrellas Mei puts in her drinks.
• Winston (human in this universe) studies astrology and finds that the farm estate is great for night time star-watching. He hangs out with Mei and Lena a lot.
• DVA studies engineering and comes by to help Torb operate on some tangly mechanics. Sometimes she brings her gaming buddy, Sombra to do the tech stuff.
• Sombra finally teaches Reinhardt how to send an email. They celebrate with beer and fireworks.
• Lucio studies Music and Arts but works as a package boy for the farm. He brings the produce to the market. with  s p e e d.
• He always gives the leftover produce to some of the town kids.
• Symmetra: THAT WAS OUR PROFIT MARGIN YOU FOOL.
• Lucio (sheepish): also i bought a frog
• Symmetra: W h AT 
• Bastion is literally a vehicle. Torb accidentally gives a tractor sentience. Symmetra is so done she just accepts it. 
• he’s adopted a bird, Torb says one day over dinner. His name is Ganymedes.
• Orisa is part of Efi’s grant project at the uni. Orisa was her solution to heavy-lifting jobs that couldn’t often be done without danger. 
• Amelie is pre-widowmaker and is still a famous dancer. She goes to the farm for vacations because it’s serene and they have sweaty guys.
