Like a lot of people are pointing out, you could legitimately kill people by doing something like this (ex: autoimmune-compromised patients, severe allergies to dogs, etc.). The hospital’s rules are there to keep people safe, not because they’re just trying to be mean.

Seriously, just ask. If it’s safe for Grandma to see her dog, they’ll arrange a wheelchair so she can go sit outside. If it’s not safe, the doctor will explain their damned good reason for saying no (Grandma could easily be that severely at-risk patient and doesn’t want to believe it). Don’t assume it’s ok to break rules like ‘don’t bring an animal who likes to roll in filth into a medical facility’ just because Grandma says it is.
