+Astral Exchange+

Honestly, when Allura told them their ‘astral planes’ will each look different, matching their personality, Lance did expect the ocean. She said they will reach it when their bond with their lions are strong enough.

Lance didn’t expect to meet Shiro. He hardly could see trough the tears in his eyes as he looked up at his Hero, form transparent and sparkling like the night sky. Lance laid there unable to move, unable to get up and hug Shiro, his limbs like lead as he laid on the border of the two astral planes.

He wanted to tell Shiro how much they miss him, wanted to promise him everything, but his lips didn’t function, he just lay there crying. He will have to ask Allura how to actually -function- in the damn astral world because this just broke his heart even more.

Yes, Shiro was there, stuck, but he promised to return, still, the things he said sounded more like a goodbye than a ‘save a seat for me’.

Sadly as Allura came in for him, both astral plane’s vanished, turning into the endless field of flowers and light breeze, as her mind took over the situation.

Shiro was again nowhere and Lance finally could sit up with Allura’s help.

“Lance are you okay?” She asked the concern making her voice weaker. “You are crying.”

“Shiro misses your eyes.” Was all he could say before the rest of the tears broke trough. A few moments later they were back on the training deck and Lance told the rest of the team what happened.

They tried over and over to meet Shiro again but his astral plane seemed to be closed up even for Allura who was a master of this strange Altean meditation thing.

Lance followed trough with his promise, being there for the team, supporting Keith, even in the hardest times, no matter what the Red paladin threw at his face (and Keith was grateful, oh hell he was, Lance never expected to see him cry but there were days when it was a wonder he didn’t have tears in his eyes), Matt was found halfway, and he distracted the team a bit too…

and when finally, FINALLY Shiro fell out (cos he literally did, and would have fallen on his face if Hunk hadn’t been there to catch him) from this other dimension, Lance finally felt like he could breath again.
