I had the (mis?)fortune of listening to Madoka songs last night and I couldn’t help but notice the similarities between Sayaka and Lance, and I couldn’t stop myself. (With bonus Keith as Kyoko, because I see a lot of similarities between them too, and Hunk as not-exactly-Madoka.) Aside from the fact that both of them are related to the element of water, they both have romanticized/fantastic ideas/dreams of certain things (their roles as magical girl/paladin for example). And I think the conundrum with the question of the intent of Sayaka’s wish as for self vs for others kind of fits with Lance too.

And then everything spiraled out into the beginnings of a Madoka Magica VLD AU. Basically the paladins becoming the equivalent of magical girls in Madoka, making contracts to be granted wishes and special powers, unaware of the consequences. A longgg post under the cut! (Fair warning that if you don’t know Madoka, it’s a very….dark take on the magical girl genre.) Uhm…prepare for heavy angst?
