Hello, this is a pretty hard thing for me to say and do, especially considering I’ve always, always hated call-out culture on Tumblr. I’ve seen several friends get called out for petty or hypocritical things, and then be forced to abandon their blogs because of the number of people harassing them. However, this is something that I think needs to be addressed for several reasons. Sinningpaladin is doing one of two things, the former being the most probable:
- He’s pretending to work for Dreamworks as the Voltron PR, and getting literally everything about the job and animation wrong. He’s doing it for attention, of course, something that he’s proven he loves.
- (Very unlikely) He actually works for Dreamworks and is abusing his power while also HIGHLY violating his NDA, insulting the creative team, Dreamworks, Netflix and a huge portion of the fandom. Getting everything that a PR and Social Media Manager does wrong. Breaking several of Dreamworks employment policies and actually painting a big red target on his back for a lawsuit (from Dreamworks), immediate termination, and blacklisting from the company and affiliates as well as any other companies in the same industry for the next ten years, minimum.
I’m going to explain both of these points in depth further down the post, but I wanted everyone to know what the two possibilities here are beforehand.
First, I’d like to offer some insight on who Sinningpaladin actually is (without giving out any personal information ofc, as that’s both illegal and morally wrong).
Sinningpaladin, or Sinpal/Crops as most of you have come to know him, has gone by several different names during the time his blog has been around. We won’t be giving those out since that’s kind of like doxxing him, and we’re not here to do that. We found a minimum of 5 different names he’s used on his blog, in addition to him also going by some of his kin names.
He’s changed his url several times since he made his blog. Keep this in mind, because in several of the links and screenshots we’re going to provide, you’ll see the URL/username sinningalpha; that was his url right before he changed it to sinningpaladin. Here’s proof that sinningalpha and sinningpaladin are the same person: [X] and just in case they go back to delete that post or edit it, we did create a blog to reblog and save all the posts we needed for evidence. You can find the post here as well [X]
Sinpal has always been obsessed with gaining popularity and attention, and has basically said he’s willing to do anything to get the attention he wants. [X] [X] [X] And of course, just in case he delete or edits his posts: [X] [X] [X] He also said that 2016 would be the year that he would let go of all his morals and values, and become the worst person he could possibly be. [X] and just in case [X]
He has stated that he is 18 years old [X] (the just in case link [X]). For starters, Dreamworks would NOT hire somebody that young as a PR, because at that age you don’t have experience in the field. They might hire an 18 year old as an intern, but not as the main PR. The main PR would be somebody who’s already graduated from college, has experience under their belt, and actually know what they’re doing. However, Dreamworks would not hire someone so young, even as an intern, unless they had full intentions of going into a field related to the animation/movie industry and had skills relevant to the job (which sinningpaladin does not have). They wouldn’t waste the internship or job on somebody who didn’t plan to stay. Here is the link where sinpal says he’s planning to go into teaching (in the tags) [X] and the just in case link [X]
That last link also has them admitting to not being based near the Dreamworks HQ which will come into play at a later point. Basically, to run PR or even Social Media Management you need to be able to spend a certain amount of time at the actual base every week. But you’ll read more about that soon enough.
So lets start first with where exactly their lie began. October 1st, with this post [X ] (backup link: [X]) where they posted information about the Voltron NYCC panel.
- yes the first episode of VLD2 will air at NYCC
Wrong. It was the second episode and they didn’t air the entire episode either. They did air a snippet of Pidge’s scene from the first episode but that was it. Besides, a PR wouldn’t release this kind of information on a personal account. They know better than that. That’s a major violation of their NDA.
- NO you shouldnt post it online! theres a reason theyre not going to be streaming that segment of the panel, guys!
This is something any fan with common sense and decency could’ve said.
- yes there
will bemay be a reveal for the day VLD2 goes live on netflixThe thing with this comment is that there were literally hundreds of people saying that there would be a s2 confirmation date at this panel. The only problem was that nobody said “there will be” they all said there might be. But what Sinpal did here was he crossed out the “will be” and put down may be. Which, any smart conartist knows leaves your response open ended. On one hand if (which they did) have a s2 release date then the crossed out portion makes them look legit. But if there hadn’t been a release date mentioned then Sinpal could’ve easily said “They must be holding it off for a bigger announcement. Don’t worry guys, it’s coming soon, I promise!” It leaves it open ended and easy to convince people.
- yes you should tag posts related to the panel and episode as VLD2 and voltron season 2 and VLD spoilers
Again, another thing that any fan with respect for the show and fans would know to do.
Basically, Sinpal didn’t actually give any information about the panel? He got lucky with the release date (along with the other hundreds of people who said the same thing) and that’s where his lies began. It got easier with people suddenly thinking he had ties to the show.
Moving onto the next few things. I’m going to make a bullet list of things I’ll be talking about when it comes to his “job” and how everything he’s told you guys is entirely wrong, against Dreamworks Employment policies or something any actual PR would know not to do.
- Everything he’s ever “confirmed” was very vague and also things that no PR would be allowed to confirm or talk about.
- He’s mentioned hanging out with the cast and crew at work except…. he doesn’t live in Los Angeles?
- Sinpal has said several times that the cast and crew openly mock and laugh at Shaladin shippers but…. that is something a PR knows not to say because that’s a HUGE violation of an NDA. (I’ve said NDA several times and if any of you don’t know what that is it’s a non-disclosure agreement. Basically it’s a companies privacy policy for employees. You don’t talk about anything going on on the inside.)
- Not to mention a PR has NOTHING to do with the cast and crew. They don’t go to the recording studio or the animation studio.
- He’s insulted the Voltron creative team, Dreamworks AND their distributor, Netflix, which this alone is grounds for termination and majorly against a PR NDA.
- He recently went back to edit very old posts to make it look like he liveblogged season 2 before it aired (we have proof of this which we’ll show further down the post)
- Also, a PR and Social Media Manager DO NOT get full episodes in advance. Cast don’t either. The only people who get full episodes are the production team.
- And Season 3 hasn’t been confirmed, a PR would know this and not say that yes season 3 was confirmed. Majorly against NDA.
- Most PR and social media things are run from a companies base office or even remote location bases for security purposes.
- PR have ZERO influence on what happens in the show. Sinpal once said that it was thanks to them that several of the fandoms headcanons and memes got confirmed but that’s false. Season 2 was basically wrapped up before season 1 even aired. Sinpal had zero to do with season 2.
- A PR has to be onboard a project from waaaay before it even gets a release date but hey Sinpal started watching the show in very late June, but who cares right?
- Also any PR or social media manager knows that a big company like Dreamworks would require you to give them any of your social media accounts for them to monitor (if you tell your followers on those accounts that you work for the company) for the sake of keeping leaks off the internet. So Dreamworks should have been notified of Sinpals account and would have already shut them down for everything they’ve said on it.
- Sinpal said that nothing was set in stone BUT things are plotted out. While not set in stone, they do have arcs and plots already planned for up to 72 episodes (5 seasons) it’s all vaguely pitched from the very beginning in their Voltron Bible. Something that Sinpal NEVER mentioned until I did on my own blog a few days ago.
- Also on their job requirements it’s always a Junior/Senior or graduate with/working towards a BA or BS in something related to film/cinema, communications, media study or related majors (preferred) so somebody going to be a teacher wouldn’t really even get a second glance in place of somebody working to be an actual Public Relations manager. Especially somebody who’s 18 and either a high school senior or a college freshman.
These are all the points I’ll be mentioning. I’m going to list each bullet and further elaborate on it. But yes we have proof of everything. So moving on to the evidence below.
The post is extremely long so I put the general information above, everything in detail is under the readmore. For one reason, because the post is very long, for another, to make sure people don’t edit the post when reblogging it.
