Do we know what provoked Reaperfish’s dad instincts with McCree?

It is believed that seeing McCree in that mascot costume sort of riled up some feelings for having kin or companionship of his own species. The feeling is sort of known as “whelp” feelings where there is a desire to take care of something else, often something that “looks” like their species.

Since McCree looked like a wraith once, that seemed good enough for Reaper to just adopt McCree. Sombra was adopted later as her species is made to rile up those whelp feels.

Reaper just wants to be an edgefish dad (but will never admit it straight out…)

I love the fact that Reaper is their mascot and not Reinhardt or someone more “charismatic”
